Makhachkala resident complains about falsification of terrorism case
Devlet Ismailov, a resident of Makhachkala, has claimed that the law enforcement bodies fabricated a case against him for creating a terrorist organization and that a court arrested him without any grounds.
On October 23, 2024, the police instituted a criminal case against Devlet Ismailov for creating a terrorist organization. On December 25, the man was taken into custody.
The court extended the arrest of Devlet Ismailov until March 10. A defendant’s advocate stated that investigators had no evidence of the Devlet Ismailov’s involvement in the crime.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in Dagestan, a wide public outcry was caused by the case of Kurban Dalgatov who died on January 20, 2023 after he was brought to a police station in Makhachkala. Relatives of Kurban Dalgatov claimed that the man died of suffocation after “electric shocks to his heart.”
