Family of activist Marina Melikhova faces eviction threat

Marina Melikhova, an activist, has complained about authorities’ demand to evict her and her children from their home in Adygea and asked for help to defend their house.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in August 2024, the court fined Melikhova, treating his pacifist poem addressed to her grandfather, who died in the Great Patriotic War (WW II), as discrediting the Russian Army.

The Melikhova's video appeal was posted in the Telegram channel "United OPZ Trade Union", which positions itself as "a public organization in vital need to protect our rights."

According to Melikhova, on February 6, a man came to her and introduced himself as a court marshal (bailiff).

"He threatened to give my family time until February 10 to take out our belongings, and that he would change the door lock. There is no eviction decision; there is only a fabricated case at the arbitration court," Marina Melikhova says in the video.

According to her story, within the framework of this case, a decision was made "to prohibit me and other persons from being in the house where I am the owner." Melikhova declared a "raider seizure" of her house and called on "all those concerned" to come to the address she gave to support her and "help defend the house."

Let us remind you that in December 2023, the court sentenced Melikhova to 1.5 years of freedom deprivation, finding her guilty of discrediting the Russian Army. Marina has stated that she was subjected to political persecution for her pacifist position and criticism of authorities.
