Court refuses to satisfy complaint against Musaeva's arrest

The Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya has left Zarema Musaeva in custody within the case of disorganizing the work of the colony.

Earlier, the ruling of the Visaitovsky District Court of Grozny was challenged by Alexander Savin, one of Zarema’s advocates, the "Team against Torture" (TaT)* has informed in its Telegram channel.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 29, the above district court extended Musaeva's arrest until February 24 within the case of disorganizing the work of the colony.

Let us remind you that the above charges were brought against Musaeva on December 13, 2024; she faces up to five years in jail. According to investigators, she attacked the colony ward, who accompanied her to the hospital for medical treatment. Sergey Babinets, the TaT* head, has linked the new case with a post placed in a social network of one of Musaeva's sons.

Zarema Musaeva moves around the SIZO on crutches. She suffers from pain in her legs, but receives no due treatment at hospital.

*The "Team against Torture" (TaT, formerly the "Committee against Torture" – CaT) was created by the lawyers who had earlier worked for the CaT, which was included into the register of the NCOs performing the functions of foreign agents.
