Protesters in Tbilisi called on political prisoners to be steadfast
In Tbilisi, protesters have demanded the release of all political prisoners, including Mziya Amaglobeli. The mothers of detained activists, Giorgi Terishvili and Andro Chichinadze, took part in the protest; they accused authorities of repressions.
On January 14, Mziya Amaglobeli was arrested within a criminal case for attacking a policeman; she faces up to seven years in prison. After her arrest, she went on a hunger strike.
The mother of Giorgi Terishvili, who was detained at the protests, took part in the protest on February 11.
"His brother (Valery) was also an active participant in these protests. I am proud that I have such children. Their father also fought for Georgia's independence and freedom; and my boys continue defending the independence and freedom won at the cost of blood," the woman has stated, the “Pirveli” TV Company reports.
Giorgi Terishvili, as well as 10 other defendants (actor Andor Chichinadze, Onise Tskhadadze, Rezo Kiknadze, Jano Archaya, Ruslan Sivakov, Luka Djabua, Guram Mirtskhulava, Valery Tetrashvili, Irakli Kerashvili and Sergey Kukharchuk) are accused of committing group violence.
"I want to call on our boys not to be afraid, because they have great support – their mothers, fathers, families and all of Georgia are on their side," Lika Guntsadze, the mother of Andro Chichinadze has stated on air at the “Pirveli” TV Company.
