Defenders of activist Lyudmila Borzilo claim she receives no medical care and deprived contacts with her children
Lyudmila Borzilo, an activist from the Rostov Region, was forcibly placed in a closed psychiatric hospital and receives no medical care there after a miscarriage, and is deprived of telephone communication with her relatives.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Lyudmila Borzilo complained that law enforcers had groundlessly opened a criminal case against her and demanded that she undergo a psychiatric examination; while officials were trying to place her children into an orphanage for her active civic position. On March 3, the court placed Borzilo under house arrest; and on March 5, she was forcibly taken to a psychiatric clinic in Rostov-on-Don. Later in the courtroom, Lyudmila, who was pregnant, suffered a miscarriage.
She is accused of disclosing the adoption secrecy. Lyudmila began investigating the maternity hospital after she was told that her child, born in 2016, had died. She is sure that her child was switched and given to a childless couple.
After emergency hospitalization from the courtroom, Borzilo underwent two surgeries; and on March 21 she was transferred back to a psychiatric clinic, Natalia Oskina, a member of the Rostov-on-Don City Duma, asserts.
"They provide her with no medical care there and ignore all her requests. After the surgeries, she has severe pain, but they don't even give Analgin to her. They forbid her from calling advocates, although this is permitted by the law; and they forbid her from calling her children," Ms Oskina has stated.
The younger children miss their mother very much and cry because of her absence, Tatiana Borzilo, Lyudmila's daughter, has added.
Borzilo is in a mentally depressed state, Alexei Oleinik, her advocate, has noted.
