In Dagestan, heads of nine villages fined for not raising Russian flags
The heads of nine villages in the Babayurt District of Dagestan failed to raise the Russian flags on their buildings and received administrative fines.
The Babayurt District Prosecutor’s Office has found that the heads of nine villages violated the law on state symbols of Russia.
“The state flag of the Russian Federation was not raised on the buildings of nine rural settlements of the Babayurt District in violation of the law,” states a report published on the official website of the Prosecutor’s Office of Dagestan.
The heads of municipalities received notifications demanding to eliminate the violations. In addition, the heads of villages were fined under the administrative article on violating the procedure for the official use of state symbols (Article 17.10 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses). This article provides for fines for officials in the amounts of 5000-7000 roubles.
