Military parades held in Northern Caucasus on Victory Day
Military parades and processions took place in Kaspiysk, Vladikavkaz, Cherkessk, and Stavropol. In at least two cities, horsemen took part in the parade, and in Kaspiysk, “Akhmat” armoured vehicles were presented.
In Kaspiysk, about 1500 people took part in the parade, including parade units of the Caspian Flotilla, the State Border Department of the FSB of Russia for the Republic of Dagestan, the Chief Directorate for the Republic of Dagestan of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), the “Rosgvardiya” (National Guard of Russia), the Dagestani Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN), the Dagestani Customs Service, the “Yunarmiya” (Young Army) All-Russian Military Patriotic Social Movement, the “Movement of the First”, and the military training centre of the DSTU (Don State Technical University).
As part of the mechanized column, 40 units of modern military vehicles and equipment took part in the parade, in particular, “AKHMAT” armoured vehicles. This year, on the initiative of Dagestani leader Sergey Melikov, a cavalry division also took part in the parade, the RIA “Dagestan” regional news agency reported.
The cavalry division participated in the parade in Kaspiysk for the first time, Israfil Israfilov, the head of the Regional Control Centre, reported on his Telegram channel.
The administration of the leader of Dagestan reported about the participation in the parade of infantrymen of the 177th separate guard regiment of marines, who participated in the liberation of the Kursk Region.
The holiday was also celebrated with the “Immortal Regiment” procession. So, according to the authorities’ reports, 15,000 people took part in the procession in Makhachkala, and similar processions were also held in other towns and villages of Dagestan.
And at the “Sulak Vysokogorny” weather station, its employees celebrated the Victory Day in their own way: they hoisted a flag, built a snow house, and remembered the participants of World War II with hot coffee in their hands, the “Mash Gor” portal reports today.
The parade with the participation of military vehicles and equipment in Stavropol included military personnel of the combined arms 49th army, cadets, participants of the special military operation (SMO), and city activists, the “Pobeda26” publication reported.
Among the parade participants were columns of children of SMO participants and kindergarten pupils, the TASS reports today.
At the event venues dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory, people stayed in long lines for tasting soldier’s porridge and for visiting toilets, the “Bloknot Stavropol” reported.
In Cherkessk, the festive event was not called a parade. A ceremonial rally and a procession of parade units of military units and subdivisions took place on the central square of the city of Cherkessk, the RIA “Karachay-Cherkessia” regional news agency reported.
In Vladikavkaz, ground forces, aerospace forces, and naval forces took part in the military parade. A separate formation was marched by a detachment of female servicemen of the 58th army, as well as detachments of the 34th control brigade and the 74th separate special-purpose radiotechnical regiment, the 67th Zhukov Order anti-aircraft missile brigade, and the 40th radiation-chemical and biological defence regiment, the “Region 15” publication reported.
A historical reconstruction of the cavalry division named after I.A. Pliev also took part in the parade. It was recreated by artists of the equestrian theatre “Narty”.
Among the military vehicles and equipment presented at the military parade were the T-34 tank, BMP-2 combat vehicles, and Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems, URAL Tornado vehicles, 100-mm MT-12 Rapira anti-tank gun, 122-mm D-30 howitzer, KAMA3 armoured vehicles, and 120-mm mortars.
Mobile communication in Vladikavkaz was restored after the end of the military parade, by lunchtime, but in the morning, it was almost completely absent, the “Osnova” portal reported.
