Call to execute Schepikhin voiced by “Akhmat” special forces fighters

When commenting on the statements of blogger Areg Schepikhin about Chechens and Muslims, fighters of the “Akhmat” special forces claimed that the incitement of ethnic hatred during military operations should be punishable by death.

The fighters of the “Timso” detachment of the “Akhmat” special forces state that blogger Areg Schepikhin has made indecent statements about the Chechen people and Muslims. They have expressed the hope that Areg Schepikhin will end up in the special military operation (SMO) zone, where they promised to talk to him like men and teach him “to love the motherland.”

In a video posted by Apti Alaudinov, the commander of the “Akhmat” special forces, on his Telegram channel, four men in military uniform, who introduced themselves as fighters of the “most international unit, the ‘Akhmat’ special forces,” have claimed that blogger Areg Schepikhin should be executed for “insults on his part by nationality, calls for genocide, and fascism." “According to the law of wartime, such a man should be put against the wall and executed without trial or investigation,” the fighter stated in the video.

The fighter has noted that while the military action has been underway since 2022, Areg Schepikhin “is brave enough” to voice such calls in the rear. There are four fighters in the video, and only one of them speaks.

By 7:25 p.m. Moscow time, the video posted on the Apti Alaudinov’s Telegram channel, which has 261,638 subscribers, has gained 9238 views.

The Kremlin allows Ramzan Kadyrov any actions inside Chechnya and against Chechens outside of it, but the kidnapping of blogger Areg Schepikhin in Moscow has resulted in the criminal cases instituted against Chechen law enforcers, emphasize human rights defenders interviewed by the “Caucasian Knot”. They have also added that in this way, Ramzan Kadyrov was pointed to the limits of what was permissible.
