Four teenagers arrested in Volgograd in extremism case

A 17-year-old student at a Volgograd college has been taken into custody on suspicion of creating an extremist community. Three more teenagers, whom investigators believe to be his associates, have been placed under house arrest.

The criminal case is being investigated under Articles 282.1 (organization of the activities of an extremist organization and participation in it), 280 (public calls for extremist activity), 354.1 (rehabilitation of Nazism), 222.1 (illegal trafficking in explosives), and 167 (intentional destruction of someone else's property) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

"The organizer of the criminal group was remanded in custody by the court at the request of the investigation. The remaining defendants were given house arrest as a preventive measure," the department reported.

Police reported two more members of the group

Two more alleged members of the group have avoided criminal prosecution, the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Volgograd Region reported today.
