Three regions of the North Caucasus Federal District have been allocated over a billion for the development of energy and housing and communal services

The Russian government has allocated more than a billion rubles for the development of energy and housing and communal services enterprises in Dagestan, Ingushetia, and North Ossetia.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, in April 2024, the Russian government allocated 625.1 million rubles for the development of energy and housing and communal services enterprises in Dagestan, Ingushetia, and North Ossetia.

It has been decided to additionally allocate more than a billion rubles from the federal budget for the development of energy and housing and communal services enterprises in Dagestan, Ingushetia and North Ossetia, according to a message posted today on the Cabinet of Ministers' website.

"More than 1 billion rubles will be additionally allocated for the implementation of programs for the sustainable development of energy and housing and communal services enterprises in Dagestan, Ingushetia and North Ossetia, which have become pilot regions in this project. An order to this effect has been signed. Funds from the government's reserve fund are needed to co-finance the expenses of three regions within the framework of the implementation of such programs," the publication says.

The Center helps territories compensate consumers for the difference in tariffs

One of the areas is the consolidation of the regional property complex of housing and communal services. "This is done by single operators created in each subject. In addition, the program activities are aimed at attracting qualified specialists to the industry. Also, within the framework of the programs, economically justified tariffs are established. As a rule, they differ from those in effect previously, so during the transition period, the federal center helps the territories compensate consumers for the difference in tariffs," the government reported.

The order, which the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers referred to, is dated July 17, its text is attached to the publication. According to the document, we are talking about the allocation of 1,026,642.6 thousand rubles in 2025. Of these, Dagestan received 589,697.8 thousand rubles, North Ossetia - 357,206.9 thousand rubles, and Ingushetia - 79,737.9 thousand rubles.

Recall that in May 2022, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an updated Strategy for the socio-economic development of the North Caucasus Federal District until 2030. Taking into account the anti-Russian sanctions, it was decided to primarily develop agriculture, transport infrastructure, and tourist facilities in the North Caucasus.

In June 2021, Mikhail Mishustin noted the failure of the North Caucasus development program. According to him, the investment of public funds in the development of the North Caucasus Federal District turned out to be ineffective. Officials then reported on the preparation of a new strategy for the development of the region.
