Telegram users complain about lack of food on trains delayed in Rostov region

Russian Railways reported on the distribution of food and water to passengers delayed due to damage to the overhead contact network of trains in the Rostov region. Some trains stopped in a field, passengers were not provided with water or dry rations, Telegram channel users complained.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, the overhead contact network of the railway was damaged today on the Likhaya - Zamchalovo section in the Rostov region as a result of a drone attack. The movement of more than 50 long-distance trains has been suspended, and a number of commuter trains have been cancelled. The movement on this section has been restored, Russian Railways reported this morning.

Russian Railways reported on the distribution of rations to passengers of delayed trains. "Bottled drinking water and dry rations are being distributed at Rostov Glavny, Likhaya, Kamenskaya, Zverevo, Novocherkassk, Millerovo, Shakhtnaya, Rossosh, Liski, and Volgograd train stations. More than 3,500 bottles of water have been distributed at Rostov Glavny alone. In total, nearly 8,000 food sets have been handed out to passengers on trains and at stations. Another 15,000 will be delivered in the near future," the company's official Telegram channel said.

In the Rostov News 161.ru Telegram channel, which has more than 225,000 subscribers, a message about the delay had collected 51 comments by 14:50 Moscow time, mostly complaints about the lack of water and food.

"There is no food! What food? Dry noodles? We are standing at the Gornaya station, the air conditioner is not working, the doors are closed, they do not let us out to breathe, children, animals. There is no dining car on the train" - wrote Dmitry Zhelyabin.

"We have been standing at Millerovo for 9 hours. There is no air conditioning, it is stuffy", - noted uipik.

"Train St. Petersburg-Adler. Delay over 8 hours. No food or water," Irina Aleksandrovna reported.

The Tyutina Telegram channel quoted a message from one of its subscribers at 11:32 Moscow time. "I have a train Novorossiysk - Moscow. Departure from Rostov yesterday at 21-47. We were supposed to arrive in Moscow today at 7 pm. At night, somewhere around one o'clock, we stopped in Zamchalovo, and have been standing there since then. It is not known at all when they will send us off. Since we were among the first to fly in, they are holding us. Those who are going after us are let through faster. Russian Railways wrote in a text message that there was a four-hour delay on the way and apologized. And then they sent a text message that the previous text message was sent by mistake. Passengers are all upset. Many have transfers in Moscow to other trains and flights. All logistics are disrupted. Everyone is trying to call the airlines or their employers so that they can reschedule flights or return tickets. There is electricity in the sockets, but the air conditioners are not working. Recall that last night, as a result of a drone attack, a railway employee was injured and taken to hospital. Several private houses in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky also caught fire. In the Kamensky district, a transformer burned down due to a drone attack, leaving five settlements without power, said the acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar.

According to the Ministry of Defense, during the night in the Rostov region, the military shot down 24 drones launched from Ukraine.
