Over 130 trains delayed after drone attack in Rostov region

On the second day after the drone attack in the Rostov region, 132 passenger trains were delayed for periods ranging from half an hour to 15 hours. At the stations, passengers were provided with rooms, Russian Railways reported.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, on the night of July 19, the railway contact network was damaged on the Likhaya - Zamchalovo section in the Rostov region as a result of a drone attack. A number of commuter trains were cancelled, and long-distance train service was suspended. It was resumed the same day. The incident led to delays of 75 passenger trains.

Due to the "incident at Likhaya station," the movement of 132 trains has been delayed for periods ranging from 33 minutes to 15 hours, Russian Railways reported today.

"Trains are passing the scene of the incident at reduced speed. 37 trains have already arrived at their final destinations," says a publication posted on the official Telegram channel "Telegram Russian Railways."

Ticket offices have been opened for passengers at 13 stations, and information is being provided via SMS, the company reported. "Additional personnel are working at all the main stations of the North Caucasus and South-Eastern Railways, and bottled water is being distributed. Mother-and-child rooms are available for passengers with children and the elderly. Railway workers are doing everything possible to reduce the delays of passenger trains," the message says, without any comments.

The authors of comments to the Russian Railways information posted on the 161.ru Telegram channel also reported train delays today. "Tell me, are the trains still standing?" Ksenia asked at 09:20 Moscow time. "Literally half an hour ago the train stopped, and then it left," Hanna responded to this.

We remind you that, according to the Ministry of Defense, on the night of July 19, the military shot down 24 drones in the Rostov Region. As a result of the attack, a railway employee, the duty officer at the Likhaya station, was injured. She was taken to hospital and then transported to the RZhD-Medicine clinic in Rostov-on-Don. Several private houses in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky also caught fire as a result of the attack; the fires were later extinguished.
