Krasnodar residents expressed their disagreement with the authorities' plans to build a road near their homes in a video message to the governor.

A video message from Krasnodar residents to the governor Veniamin Kondratyev was published in the telegram channel "Krasnodar | Teletype" (130.2 thousand subscribers). "Krasnodar residents do not want a road to be built under their windows," the video caption says.

According to the publication, the authorities plan to build a road "that will start from Rostovskoye Shosse Street, run along Kurchatov Street and exit onto 40 Years of Victory Street." "On July 18, 2025, a meeting of street residents was held, an active group was formed, a collective letter was prepared and sent to the city administration in order to obtain documentary justification for the planned road construction work," the report says.

The video footage shows several dozen men and women of different ages. One of the men is speaking on behalf of those gathered.

"We, the residents of Kurchatov Street, the numerous houses that have been built here, express our disagreement with the construction of a roadway and a highway for cars here. Since here, where they are going to build a roadway, there are playgrounds, a green area where people relax, garages for people to use, for their cars... Here, the house is located very close to the roadway, and the green area that is located here serves to cut off the railroad from residential buildings," he says.

At the end of the video, the crowd chants in unison: "We, the residents of Kurchatov Street, are against the construction of a road near our homes!"

Earlier, the Krasnodar authorities signed a contract with a commercial company to prepare design documentation for the reconstruction of the overpass on Ofitserskaya Street - from Rostovskoye Highway to Neftyanikov Highway. The cost of the work is 87.8 million rubles, 93.ru reports today.

The authorities plan to demolish part of the overpass and build a new structure, widening the roadway from four to five lanes. "In total, they plan to spend 1 billion rubles on the reconstruction, the implementation period is up to and including 2027," the publication writes.
