Station building damaged in Rostov region after drone attack

Drones were shot down in Shakhty, Novoshakhtinsk and Novocherkassk, in the village of Kamenolomny, UAVs hit the station building and a flower shop.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, on the night of July 19, the railway contact network was damaged on the Likhaya - Zamchalovo section in the Rostov Region as a result of a drone attack. A number of commuter trains were cancelled, and long-distance train service was suspended. It was resumed the same day, but the incident led to delays in train service. On July 20, 132 passenger trains were delayed for periods ranging from half an hour to 15 hours. Due to a drone attack in the Rostov region and mass train delays, the schedule of 10 passenger trains has been changed, including to Krasnodar Krai and Chechnya.

UAVs were destroyed in Novoshakhtinsk, Shakhty and Novocherkassk, Acting Governor of the Rostov Region Yuri Slyusar reported today.

As a result of the attack, the railway station in the village of Kamenolomny was damaged. "In the village of Kamenolomni in the Oktyabrsky rural district, the roof of the railway station buildings caught fire due to fallen fragments of a drone. Three people were evacuated from the control center. According to preliminary data, no one was hurt," he reported on his Telegram channel.

According to him, in the same village, a flower shop located at 15b Sadovy Lane caught fire. Fire and rescue crews arrived at the scene.

The Tyutina Telegram channel published a video of the moment the drone hit the railway station building in the village of Kamenolomni.

The station building was seriously damaged, the 161.ru publication reported, posting a photo showing that the top two floors of the three-story building were destroyed.

The Oktyabrsky District Administration called on residents in their Telegram channel to call rescuers if they spot drones.

We remind you that according to the Ministry of Defense, on the night of July 19, the military shot down 24 drones in the Rostov Region. As a result of the attack, a railway employee, the duty officer at the Likhaya station, was injured. She was taken to the hospital and then transported to the RZhD-Medicine clinic in Rostov-on-Don. The attack also resulted in several private houses in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky catching fire, but the fires were later extinguished.
