Deputy Chief of Rosgvardia Unit Arrested in Adygea in Bribery Case

A case of a large bribe received by the deputy head of one of the divisions of the regional department of the Russian Guard in Adygea is being investigated in Maykop.

The deputy head of the licensing and permitting center of the republican department of the Russian Guard was detained in Maykop on July 16 while receiving money.

According to the investigation, the accused planned to help his subordinate in career advancement and provide patronage to one of the educational institutions where employees of private security companies are trained. For these services, he received 1.1 million rubles, according to today's publication of the regional Investigative Committee.

Employees of the internal security service of the Russian Guard participated in the arrest; at the time of receiving the money on July 16, he held a senior position in the department, but now the investigation is already calling him a “former” deputy chief.

The detainee was taken into custody and charged under the article on accepting a bribe on an especially large scale (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Russian Criminal Code provides for eight to fifteen years of imprisonment).
