In Armenia, early on April 8, in Vanatur district of the city of Razdan, policemen detained nine participants of the hunger strike in support of oppositional activist Sasun Mikaelyan and brought them to the police station.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt about it from Armand Musinyan, press secretary of the pre-election office of Levon Ter-Petrosyan.

According to his story, only wheel-chair invalid Arshavir Bazinyan is holding hunger strike now, the police has dismantled the tent of protesters and forced the rest of the participants to the police station.

Let us note here that on April 7, the commander of the police of the Kotaik Region assured the former Ombudsperson Larissa Alaverdyan that the police would not interfere with the protest action.

We remind you that yesterday, on April 7, nine veterans of the Karabakh war joined the hunger strike held by the Razdan resident, wheel-chair invalid Arshavir Bazinyan.

Nine members of detachment "Sasun", where Sasun Mikaelyan was commander, arrived to his native city from other settlements of Armenia and declared, that from April 7 they would start a three-day hunger strike, and then, should their demands be disregarded, would announce their hunger strike termless.
