Armenians of Los Angeles demand not to recognize Sarkisyan as president-elect of Armenia

In connection with the inauguration of Serzh Sarkisyan, in the evening on April 8, more than five thousand Armenians went out to the protest action in the vicinity of Los Angeles called "Minor Armenia" with a demand not to recognize Sarkisyan president-elect of Armenia.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports with reference to the press service of the Los Angeles-based American Centre in Support of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, that the participants of the action sent their applications to the US government and governments of some European countries with an appeal not to recognize Serzh Sarkisyan as president-elect of Armenia.

The appeal urges the governments of the USA and European countries to initiate an independent international investigation of the events on March 1 in Yerevan and to assist in immediate release of political prisoners and restoration of democratic order in Armenia.

The participants of the action commemorated the March 1 victims with a minute of silence.

On April 9, the Armenians living in Ukraine are going to hold a similar protest action opposite the Armenian Embassy in Kiev.

We remind you that Serzh Sarkisyan has entered the post of the President of Armenia in the course of inauguration ceremony that took place today at the A. Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
