Moscow GUVD assures society of Kabardino-Balkaria of fighting xenophobia

The Moscow GUVD (City Department of Internal Affairs) has assured the public of Kabardino-Balkaria that it is counteracting any manifestations of xenophobia and interethnic extremism in Russian capital.

The letter of the public of Kabardino-Balkaria sent to former President of Russia Vladimir Putin, where the concern was expressed with the facts of xenophobia in the capital of the country, an answer was received signed by A. I. Gusev, deputy head of the GUVD for the city of Moscow.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about it at the Public Human Rights Centre of the Republic.

In particular, the answer runs that "the GUVD for the city of Moscow takes measures to prevent extremism-motivated offences and crimes.

According to the letter, the capital "has set up specialized units instructed to reveal, open and prevent crimes committed under motives of racial and religious hatred... Preventive measures are taken among minors and persons belonging to informal youth associations."
