Meeting on settlement of Georgia-Abkhazia conflict in Berlin postponed

The consultations on the settlement of Georgia-Abkhazia conflict which were to be held this week in Berlin on the initiative of European countries and the USA have been postponed.

The meeting was to take place this week but the Abkhazian party has not decided on its participation in it yet.

Sergei Shamba, Abkhazian Minister of Foreign Affairs, states that Abkhazia, in principle, does not object to taking pat in the meeting of the Group of UN General Secretary's Friends, but it disagrees with the proposed dates.

Temur Yakobashvili, State Minister on Re-integration of Georgia, whom the IA "Novosti-Gruzia" cites, notes that no new date for the negotiations  has been fixed yet.

Jens Pletner, representative of the FRG MoFA, in his turn has confirmed the information on the preparation for a meeting of top representatives of Georgia and Abkhazia with the mediation of Germany but he has not clarified either the date, the venue or the level of the participants, reports RIA "Novosti".
