Singers from Nagorny Karabakh win silver medals in Hollywood
Tigran Mkrtchian and Vardan Badalian, singers from Nagorny Karabakh, have returned home with three silver medals from the contest "Worldstars" held in Hollywood.
Tigran Mkrtchian told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the contest which was held for the 12th time was attended by about 5,000 participants from 41 countries. The flag of Nagorny Karabakh Republic was raised for the first time along with the flags of other countries.
Tigran Mkrtchian performed in the nominations "freestyle" and "classics" and won two silver medals. Tigran Badalian became second in the nomination "national song". The participation of Karabakh became possible thanks to Artak Bagdasarian, national director of Armenia and Karabakh at the festival. The trip to the USA was funded by the government of Karabakh.
WORLDSTARS is a contest held in order to identify and crown the best performers of the world. The contest jury includes more than 100 persons from the entertainment industry in Hollywood, they also conduct education seminars and meetings.
