Rally on in Makhachkala demanding resignation of Dagestan MIA head

In Makhachkala, the militia would not let to the square participants of the rally with demand of resignation of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Dagestan. About 300 participants of the protest action have rallied in the mini-park near the central square of Makhachkala and are warning about possible provocations from the militia.

The rally was organized by the Public Organization named "Homeland" and the Foundation named "Sogratl Society". The action should have been passed after the special operation in Makhachkala, during which Rashid Gazilaliev, teacher of the Dagestan Pedagogical University, and his wife were killed, but after the meeting of the members of the organizing committee with President of Dagestan Mukhu Aliev the rally was postponed.

However, as the rally organizers have explained, during this time the law enforcement bodies actually refused to give the materials of the case to Gazilaliev's advocates for holding an independent investigation and studying the circumstances of case. Therefore, it was decided to hold the rally on August 29 with a demand of resignation of Adilgerey Magomedtagirov, Minister of Internal Affairs of Dagestan.

Gadjimurad Kamalov, the master of the rally, director of the LLC "Freedom of Speech" and the founder of the "Chernovik" newspaper, has stated that the organizers of the action sent a letter to the Department of Own Safety of Russian MIA asking to hold a check at the MIA of Dagestan.
