16 persons hospitalized in Volgograd Region with food poisoning
In the city of Zhirnovsk, Volgograd Region, 16 persons, including a child of nine, have been hospitalized with food poisoning.
A representative of the territorial department of "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Agency for Supervising Consumer Goods) has informed today that "by initial symptoms salmonellosis can be suspected."
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has informed about hospitalization in the Volgograd Region of 14 children, aged from 7 to 14, from a summer camp with suspicion for gastroenterocolitis. According to some sources, unripe apricots could be the source of poisoning.
According to the RIA "Novosti", this time the reason of the disease could be confectionery products of a local factory, in particular, pies, cakes and rolls with cottage cheese.
We remind you that after rough violations of sanitary-epidemiologic and fire regulations, the Prosecutor's Office of the Volgograd Region suspended the work of children's summer camps. The mass inspection of children's camps was initiated after an incident in the camp "Lazurny", where 16 children were hospitalized because of indigestion.
In the end of June, in Astrakhan, 17 children from the kindergarten "Sapozhok" aged from 2 to 7 were hospitalized. In total, 64 children addressed for medical aid. According to the results of bacteriological assays, a widely spread form of staphylococcus was revealed.
