Supreme Court of Ingushetia finds Evloev's detention illegal

The decision of the court on illegality of detention in the airport of the city of Magas by law enforcement bodies of Magomed Evloev, owner of the website "Ingushetia.Ru", who later perished in the militia car last August, has come into its legal force.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier that Magomed Evloev died in the Republic's Hospital in Nazran, where he was delivered on August 31 with a gunshot wound in his head. A couple of hours before that Mr Evloev was detained at the Airport "Magas" by the cortege of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia and taken away in an unknown direction.

"The Supreme Court of Ingushetia has rejected the complaint of the Prosecutor's Office of the South Federal District against the decision of the Republic's District Court, which had earlier recognized Evloev's detention in Airport "Magas" to be illegal," the "Interfax" quotes Musa Pliev, advocate of the Evloev family, as saying.

Mr Pliev has added that now the decision is considered to be enacted. "Now we can say that Evloev was summoned illegally. We plan to lodge a complaint against the inspectors who had initiated the forced delivery and ask to initiate a criminal case against them", he said.

According to the advocate, in February the Nazran Court of Ingushetia plans to start considering on the merits the criminal case on Evloev's death. "Another criminal case was initiated on the fact of theft of a huge sum of money from Evloev after detention. At the forthcoming session we'll petition on joining these cases into one: the money disappeared, probably, the crime was accomplished with evil intent and under profit motive", the "Ingushetia.Org" quotes the advocate as saying.
