In Ingushetia, unidentified persons shell Tsokievs' house
On February 16, unidentified persons threw a grenade into the yard of the household belonging to the Tsokiev family, located in Bazorkina Street in Malgobek (Ingushetia). The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about by the owner of the house Magomed Tsokiev; later the fact was confirmed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia.
The grenade thrown in at about 10:00 blew up in the yard. "By Lord's mercy, there was nobody in the yard at the moment. Windows went out, and the gate and the doors got damaged," said Magomed Tsokiev. He lives in the house together with his wife and mother.
The neighbours of the Tsokievs have reported that the culprits who threw the grenade arrived in a beige VAZ-21114 car.
"Neighbours say that these were employees of law enforcement bodies. Probably, they saw this car earlier in connection with some militiamen. I don't know why they think so, since I didn't see the car myself," a local resident told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The Tsokievs have filed an application to GOVD (City Militia Department) of Malgobek.
Earlier, on November 13, 2008, brothers Magomed and Timur Tsokiev were arrested in their house, together with their cousins Ibragim Aushev and Tamerlan Tankiev, by Malgobek ROVD employees and Russian power agents. The four detainees, as they later reported, were kept in the ROVD building from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and severely tortured, beaten and humiliated. After personal interference of President Yunus-Bek Evkurov torture was stopped and fabricated charges lifted.
The Tsokievs' house was attacked for the second time. On November 19, 2008, on the day, when Magomed Tsokiev was released, unknown persons shelled their house from automatic firearms, causing various damages. On the same day Tamerlan Tankiev was released; his house was completely burnt down by unknown persons.
