Parents fix responsibility on authorities for death of their children on March 1 2008

Alla Ovanisyan, mother of Tigran Khachatryan, 23, who died as a result of application by the police of gas weapon "Cheryomukha-7" in the course of dispersal of the oppositional action on March 1, 2008, has stated that her son was killed by the authorities.

Ms Ovanisyan has expressed her bewilderment with the fact that until now the four policemen who had used the special weapon "Cheryomukha-7" were not summoned to the trial.

"Should the authorities fail to do it, it means that they have organized the trial not to open the truth and affirm justice but to hide crimes. The one who killed my son is still employed by law enforcement bodies. If we now know his name, it'll become clear who had ordered to shoot," Alla Ovannisyan is sure.

Sarkis Kloyan, father of Gor Kloyan, who perished on March 1, 2008, said to the members of the temporary parliamentary commission that his son was intentionally killed by policemen.

"Gor was fond of making photos and always had his camera with him; he was with his photo camera on March 1 as well, however, nobody knows where the camera is now. I'm sure Gor was killed when he tried to make photos," said Mr Kloyan.

According to official data, Gor Kloyan was wounded in the crossing of Mashtots and Grigor Lusovorich Streets as a result of wrong use of special weapon "Cheryomukha-7" and died in hospital from bleeding as doctors were not in time to help him.

Sona Truzyan, press-secretary of the State Office of Public Prosecutor of Armenia, said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the inquiry into murders is going on, and materials of the investigation were not yet sent to the court.

"Nobody is challenging that the casualties of "Cheryomukha-7" were killed by policemen. It's already known that on March 1, 2008, this weapon was used by four policemen. However, neither local nor foreign the international experts could manage to find out, whose weapon killed these people," said the press secretary.
