Militia suspects Chechen militants of murdering Ingush hunters

The four residents of Ingushetia, whose bodies were detected on March 28 in the Achkhoy-Martan District of Chechnya, could be killed by militants from the grouping of field commander Timur Makhauri active in the region, as Chechen law enforcers assert.

Let us note here that four natives of the Sunzha District went hunting and disappeared on March 23. Five days later, their bodies with gunshot wounds in the head were found in a large forest in the Achkhoy-Martan District, bordering on Ingushetia.

"As to the murder of four residents of Ingushetia, we have grounds to believe that this crime was committed by militants from the gang of a certain Timur Makhauri. This bandit grouping operates in the mountain-woody locality of the Achkhoy-Martan and Sunzha Districts of Chechnya and can migrate to the neighbouring republic - Ingushetia," a source is Chechen militia said and added: "One should also mind that the gangsters put mines around the bodies of the casualties. The place where we found them was surrounded by explosives and trip-wire-actuated mines. All the four were executed from firearms with subsequent control shots in the head."

A criminal case was initiated on the fact of the group murder.
