Sarkis Atspanyan: I tried to warn President of Armenia about possible attempt
At the judicial session on April 1, activist of the opposition Sarkis Atspanyan, citizen of France and supporter of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, accused of a false denunciation with the aim to discredit a person, stated that he had tried to warn President of Armenia about a possible attempt and that it was for benefit of Robert Kocharyan and Armenian National Front "Dashnaktsutyun" (ANFD).
According to Atspanyan, Arthur Agadzhanyan, inspector of the National Security Service, accused him of a false denunciation as he had reported about an attempt on incumbent President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan prepared by Robert Kocharyan and members of the ANFD Party: "Meanwhile, I repeatedly told the inspector that I had presented to the 'Aikakan Zhamanak' newspaper my analysis of the data received from one of my old friends. In the course of one interrogation, I asked the inspector why a criminal case was not initiated against Artashes Gegamyan, chairman of the Party "National Unity", who stated in 2007 that Serzh Sargsyan's brother Sashik Sargsyan prepared murder of Gagik Tsarukyan. The inspector answered to this: 'If you were the same 'visitor' as Artashes Gegamyan (secret cooperation with the authorities was meant), you would have been at large'."
