Yamadaevs reject Sulim's involvement in Ahmat Kadyrov's murder

Relatives of Sulim Yamadaev, executed by gunmen in Dubai on March 28, find it full absurdity that President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov had accused Sulim, ex-commander of the "Vostok" special GRU battalion, of involvement in murdering Ramzan's father Ahmat Kadyrov.

"Under same logic, I can assert that Ramzan himself was involved in the crime, as he was the head of his father's security," one of close relatives of Sulim Yamadaev told in his conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"Why had they kept silent for all these years, if it was the case? Were they afraid? Besides, Ramzan said several times that all those involved in his father's murder had been liquidated. Then, he had imposed the guilt for this terror act on Basaev and Khairullah (field commander Suleiman Imurzaev, killed in 2007, - comment of the "Caucasian Knot"); and now he has suddenly accused Sulim of that murder. It's just ridiculous," the relative continued.

Speaking about possible Adam Delimkhanov's involvement in the attempt on Sulim Yamadaev, the source said that it was not excluded.

"Khalid (Ruslan Yamadaev, - comment of the "Caucasian Knot") and Sulim were the first to support Ahmat Kadyrov in his fight against Wahhabites. Then, we were backed by serious force, while Ramzan was just his father's son. Ahmat-hadji called Sulim his son, and Ramzan earlier called him his brother. Therefore, speaking that Sulim could have been involved in the terror act against Ahmat-hadji is a lie. He'd have never done it since he loved Kadyrov-senior very much," said the source.

According to his story, relations between Yamadaevs and Kadyrovs began to worsen only after Ahmat-hadji was lost, and the power in Chechnya had actually passed over to Ramzan.

"At that time, such dirty persons like Adam Delimkhanov and others started to group around him," said Sulim's relative.

Local observers also believe that the version put forward by Ramzan Kadyrov about Sulim's involvement in his father's murder of the father looks unpersuasive.
