Brayza: new Azerbaijan-Armenia summit prepared

Another meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia Ilham Aliev and Serzh Sargsyan will most probably take place on May 7-8 within the European Union summit under the Programme "Eastern Partnership" in Prague. This was stated on April 3 in Baku by Matthew Brayza, co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group from the American party and US Undersecretary of State.

"I hope that Presidents will take part in the summit," said Mr Brayza and noted that on April 6 the French co-chairman Bernard Fassier will come to the region, and some time later, a joint visit of three co-chairs will take place. Matthew Brayza has added that the aim of these visits is to reach a final agreement and prepare the next meeting of Presidents.

Touching on the situation in the region, Mr Brayza said that "it contributes to the progress towards settlement of the Karabakh conflict." He has noted a special "positive role of Turkey" and said that the warming up in Armenian-Turkish relations should go on in synchrony with negotiations on Karabakh settlement.
