One-person picket held in Krasnodar demanding cancellation of curfew

On April 11 in Krasnodar, opposite the building of the territorial administration, a one-person picket was held to cancel the curfew for minors in force in the Krasnodar Territory for more than 8 months.

On August 1, 2008, the Krasnodar Territory enacted the Law "On Measures to Prevent Minors' Neglect and Offences", which caused a lot of disputes. Human rights and public organizations held repeated actions against certain provisions of the Law. Thus, on March 21, another picket for cancellation of the curfew was held in Novorossisk.

In Krasnodar, Tatiana Rudakova, leader of the public organization "Mothers in Defence of Rights of Inmates, Detainees and Convicts", applied well in advance for holding a picket by a group of citizens.

However, in the same place on April 11 an action was to be held in support of anti-crisis course of Russian government, therefore, Ms Rudakova was offered to transfer her picket to the "Aurora" movie theatre, as the "All-Russian Civil Network" reports.

The lady-human rights activist rejected the offer and held her one-person picket under the slogans: "Curfew is a way to dictatorship!", "Curfew is Tkachov's shame". Later, Tatiana Rudakova plans to appeal against the Kuban capital mayoralty's decision in the court.
