Sakvarelidze: Georgian population finds opposition's rallies fruitless

The opposition in Georgia promises to make its protest actions more radical, however, in the opinion of political scientist Ramaz Sakvarelidze, who was interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, the population of Georgia see that the rallies of the opposition bring no result.

In the course of today's rally in front of the Parliament in Tbilisi, Irakliy Melashvili, a representative of the "National Forum" has stated that actions of the opposition will become more radical.

The "Georgia Online" Agency reports that he promised to start picketing new objects in Tbilisi.

Meanwhile, Ramaz Sakvarelidze asserts that quite soon residents of Georgia will be sick and tired of taking part in protests. "The authorities now expect that the protesters will either break the law or just go home. I'm almost sure that the law won't be broken, but people will get tired," he said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his version, law enforcers behave absolutely illogically - instead of protecting the protesters and ensure the order, they have completely withdrawn from their duties.

"Not only law enforcers, but also firemen. They said that if something happens, they'd do nothing. Here, only street keepers support some cleanliness. Although the authorities tried to forbid them also to do their job," said Paata Zakareishvili.
