Public television of Azerbaijan refused to provide air time to oppositionists

The Board of Directors of the Public Television and Radio Company (PTV) of Azerbaijan has refused to provide air time to the "Musavat" opposition party. The Company's managers have motivated their decision with the fact that the "Musavat" party is not the only organization who applied to the PTV with this sort of requests: "Other organizations, both governmental and NGOs, and various companies have approached us with similar requests. But we have no right to provide air time either to you or to them," the response letter of the PTV to the "Musavat" party runs.

In their turn, they have marked at the press service of the "Musavat" party that they had expected nothing different from the PTV, since from the first days of broadcasting, this TV Channel has revealed its dependence on the Azerbaijani authorities.
