Medical examination of arrested journalist conducted in Azerbaijan

Today, a second medical examination of arrested journalist Mushfig Guseinov has been conducted at Baillovski pre-trial prison. This has been reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Vugar Khasiyev, his lawyer. According to the lawyer, in case serious health problems are confirmed Mushfig Guseinov will be transferred to a medical establishment.

Note that, according to his relatives, Mushfig Guseinov suffers from tuberculosis and, following his arrest on July 24, his state of health sharply deteriorates.

Meanwhile, sources at the General Prosecutor's Office inform the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that, during the coming days, the General Prosecutor's Office is going to make public additional information about  Mushfig Guseinov's arrest. The office clams that there are all grounds for a three-month arrest of Mushfig Guseinov and the data confirming this are going to be made public.

For reference, Mushfig Guseinov was arrested on the charge of receiving a bribe from Rizvan Aliev, employee of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. The journalist, however, claims that he has been arrested upon "the order" of Minister Fizuli Alekperov whose activity the journalist criticized in his publications.
