North Ossetia: inspector of the State Office of Public Prosecutor applies violence to advocate
At the Republic's Clinical Hospital of Vladikavkaz, the advocate Irina Kodzaeva was examined by the on duty neurosurgeon and diagnosed brain concussion.
On August 27, advocate Irina Kodzaeva, defendant of Nazir Muzhakhoev, was making her way to the temporary isolation facility of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RSO-A (Republic of South Ossetia-Alania) to meet her client. However, she was not allowed to see him and was told that N. Muzhakhoev had refused from her services.
They refused to present her the statement on her removal, and as a consequence, a dispute burst out between the advocate and the investigatory group.
"Victor Pereverzev, inspector of the State Office of Public Prosecutor, in his unbuttoned shirt, at first pushed me away, and then struck me on my head with his palm, and I hit my lip against a door jamb," Irina Kodzaeva has told today in her interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "Mr Muzhakhoev has informed me that he was threatened with violence and instructed to confess of the crime he never committed; they also ordered him to reject my services. He is already the fourth defendant who is forced by threats to reject me."
Before this incident, Irina Kodzaeva was the defender of Nazir Muzhakhoev, accused under Article 205 of the RF's Code of Criminal Procedure (terrorism) and incriminated an attack on a militia post in Nazran in 2006.
