Prosecutor's office of Armenia presents charges to 59 oppositionists

Charges of taking part in mass disorders in Yerevan, during which eight persons were lost, have been presented to 59 persons by the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia.

Sona Truzyan, press secretary of the General Public Prosecutor of Armenia, has reported that a huge work was already conducted under the preliminary investigation, the key persons who had provoked and organized mass disorders are established, a number of structures have been identified who had organized and coordinated the actions aimed at destabilizing the internal political situation in the country, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

In particular, according to Ms Truzyan, for spending a night in the Freedom Square people received 5-10 thousand drams (16-32 US dollars) each, they were provided with foodstuffs and drinks.

"According to the obtained data, the necessary financial resources to support the stay in the Freedom Square of residents of the city of Razdan and adjacent villages were provided by deputy of the National Assembly Sasun Mikaelyan, who is currently searched, and the protesters were recruited by his supporter, known as Gor," Sona Truzyan has informed.

"According to the available data, apart from funding the participants of illegal mass actions directed at destabilizing the country, Mr Mikaelyan gave clear instructions to seize power at any cost," Ms Truzyan has added and reported that Baregamyan and Gor are already detained.
