Almost all "ANM" opposition party leaders arrested in Armenia

Most leaders of the opposition party "Armenian National Movement" (ANM) have been arrested in Armenia. Out of 25 members of the party board, only three persons are out of prison. They are now hiding from law enforcement agencies. This has been reported to the "Caucasian Knot" from sources close to Armenian opposition.

Nara Galstian, representative of ANM, reports that on March 12, officers of the Armenian National Security Service conducted a search in the ANM headquarters, confiscating some documents and the processor of one of the computers.

Meanwhile, Arman Mussinian, press-secretary of the Levon Ter-Petrosian's election headquarters, claims in a telephone conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that no search has been conducted in the ANM offices during recent days.

According to the opposition leader Levon Ter-Petrosian, the most burning issues in the post-election Armenia are arrests of the opposition supporters. According to his data, today, many opposition activists are behind the bars, including Alexander Arzumanian, head of the Ter-Petrosian's election headquarters, 70% of ANM members, and heads of his election headquarters in all regions of the country.
