Matthew Bryza discloses negotiations on Nagorno-Karabakh

The American co-chairman of the Minsk OSCE Group Matthew Bryza has disclosed some details of the negotiations: firstly, recognition of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan; secondly, return of 7 districts to Azerbaijan and return of forced migrants to these regions; thirdly, withdrawal of Armenian troops; fourthly, setting up a corridor ensuring communication of Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia; fifthly, debate on the status of Nagorno-Karabakh that can be decided on the basis of compromises during negotiations.

"This is the full package of the negotiations discussed nowadays," Mr Bryza has emphasized in his interview to the Voice of America.

"We support the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. But at the same time, by means of cooperation with Azerbaijan we expect to reach a fair and peaceful settlement of the Karabakh problem," he said.

We remind you that on the results of the meetings of the co-chairmen of the Minsk OSCE Group with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Azerbaijan on March 14-15 in Vienna and Paris, the co-chairmen made a statement, in which they called Azerbaijan and Armenia to resume negotiations on settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

The statement, now at the disposal of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, runs that the USA, Russia and France support the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, would not recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh and believe that the future status of this region is a subject of negotiations between the parties. The co-chairmen remain committed to peaceful settlement.
