Authorities of Chechnya demand return of lands occupied by Russian power agencies

President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has demanded from the heads of administrations of the districts of the republic to solve the problems with the land plots, which are life-supporting for the republic, but are currently occupied by the forces of the Russian Ministry of Defence and other power agencies, deployed in Chechnya.

"We can't start restoration certain objects, since power agencies occupy the complexes included into the  2008-2011 Federal Target Programme," said Kadyrov at the sitting held at the Republic's Government on the issue of the use of the lands and real estate objects by subdivisions of Russian Ministries of Defence and Internal Affairs, and the FSB (Federal Security Bureau) of Russia in the territory of Chechnya.

President Kadyrov asked heads of district administrations to take necessary efforts according to the legislation of Russia to return the illegally occupied agrarian lands, if the units have concluded lease agreements but would not pay for the land, and to return the objects belonging to the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Education, occupied by the units of Russian power agencies.

Let us note here that the sitting was held without participation of representatives of those power agencies, whom Ramzan Kadyrov addressed his statement.

According to the data presented by the Minister of Land and Property Relations of Chechnya Supyan Lechkhadziev and reported by RIA "Novosti", the area occupied by the militaries makes over 30,000 hectares. The total damage caused for the latest eight years because of non-use of the lands to their purpose is as high as 8 billion roubles.
