Lusine Saakyan: investigation into attack on Kiviryan in Armenia goes a wrong way

In Armenia, Lusine Saakyan, a well-known lawyer and wife of Argishti Kiviryan, hackneyed coordinator of the Internet edition "Armenia Today", who is in hospital in a grave condition, has stated that there are people who try to put the investigation into the attack on her husband onto a wring track.

"It's not clear why the case was initiated under Article 117 of the Criminal Code - 'Deliberate light harm to one's health'," Ms Saakyan is perplexed. "It gives rise to suspicion that someone tries to direct the inquiry to a false way. It's obvious that they wanted to kill my husband, therefore, the case should be initiated under 'Attempt on one's life', not 'Light harm to one's health'."

In response to her statement, the police said: "The investigation is underway; a medical examination was appointed and details are being found out."
