Armenia president issues instruction to prepare information on the amnesty conditions
During the June 2 meeting, Armenian president Serge Sargsian issued an instruction to the law enforcement officers to submit their proposals on the conditions of and legal grounds for the amnesty of political prisoners before June 15.
Today, the Public Council under the Armenian president has taken a decision to discuss the feasibility and conditions of declaring an amnesty for formulating their proposal on the amnesty to be submitted to the Armenian president.
The Public Council which consists of representatives of a number of political parties, scholars and public figures has passed a decision to address the commission on state and legal issues under the National Assembly, the Minister of Justice, Prosecutor general and chief of Armenian police with a request to submit the necessary information on the issue of the amnesty.
