Chechen President cancels vacations for his officials

The President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has demanded that top executives cancel their summer vacations until full completion in the territory of the republic of special operations aimed to liquidate members of armed underground formations.

"All of us should postpone our vacations and holiday travels until we do away completely with the remaining bandits. In all directions - in Shatoy, Vedeno and Achkhoy-Martan Districts and in the pre-frontier zone with Ingushetia - employees of special MIA units and internal troops conduct actions aimed at searching and neutralizing bandits; they will continue until the territory of Chechnya is completely free of bandits," Mr Kadyrov has stated.

Some observers view the President's demand to cancel summer vacation as another PR action of the authorities. "What attitude do heads of district or rural administrations have to special operations? Demanding from bureaucrats to 'stay where they are' is an obvious exaggeration," believes one of them.
