ICPO: Natalia Estemirova's murder is close to solving

The investigation into the murder case of the Chechen human rights defender Natalia Estemirova has seen an essential progress and is "on the brink of solving." This was stated today by Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation, at the celebratory conference, dedicated to the 55th anniversary of criminalistic service in the prosecution bodies.

Let us note here that on October 15 in a conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent a source from law enforcement bodies said that so far inspectors had no clues to find traces of executors and organizers of this murder.

The investigation has defined the most probable versions of the crime: links with Estemirova's professional work and attempt to destabilize the situation in the territory of Ingushetia and Chechen Republic. Inspectors assert that Natalia had not expressed any fears for her life, as reported by the ITAR-TASS.
