Makhmudov brothers interrogated again on Politkovskaya's murder
The Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation reports that on the murder case of Anna Politkovskaya, a journalist of the "Novaya Gazeta", brothers Ibragim and Dzhabrail Makhmudov, who had been acquitted by the jury, signed recognizance not to leave.
On October 16, Chairman of the ICPO Alexander Bastrykin assured that Anna Politkovskaya's case would be solved and added that the that the non-guilty verdict to the defendants was passed after rejection of a number of proofs. In Mr Bastrykin's belief, they had wrongfully removed some of the proofs and "ruined the case."
An ICPO source has reported that Ibragim and Dzhabrail Makhmudov were summoned to interrogation on Thursday, October 15. The brothers were acquainted with the statement on uniting the criminal case in relation to them and former employee of the UBOP Sergey Khadzhikurbanov with the case in relation to suspected executor of Politkovskaya's murder Rustam Makhmudov and unidentified customers of the murder.
On October 18, it became known, as the "Rosbalt" reports that Murad Musaev, Dzhabrail Makhmudov's advocate, confirmed this information.
