Titov: militia of Krasnodar Territory fails to react to SMS insults

Evgeniy Titov, a journalist of the "Novaya Gazeta", complains that the militia makes no checks on his application about the insults sent to him as SMS messages from the telephone number of the director of a Novorossisk school; Mr Titov had a talk with him, when he prepared the material about the opponents of the "children's curfew".

"I filed my application to the UVD (Interior Department) of the Western District of Krasnodar back on September 22. My application went together with a CD, recording photos of obscene SMS messages, taken from the screen of my mobile phone. The investigator put down an explanation from my words, and I signed it. She also made printouts of the photos from the CD, but she didn't take the disk, saying that it will be needed later. The investigator brought a coupon-notification from the on duty unit and said that they will call me within ten days," Mr Titov said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"However, a month has expired, but there's no news from the militia. Possibly, someone hopes that I'll forget about this case, and it'll fade out by itself. These hopes are vain. For me, this is the issue of principle," said the journalist.
