Rosa Malsagova: Maksharip Aushev was irritator for Ingush authorities

Rosa Malsagova, former editor-in-chief of the website Ingushetia.Org", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Maksharip Aushev's relations with President Yunus-Bek Evkurov were not cloudless. After execution of Aushev's nephew earlier this April, Maksharip Aushev has repeatedly accused the republic's leadership of inability to stop extrajudicial executions.

"Aushev was at 'aiming sight' for a long time. There were numerous attempts to arrest him; his house was searched many times. First, he was kept at the SIZO (pre-trial prison). Then, in July, the court in Ingushetia acquitted him. However, Public Prosecutor Yuri Turygin wouldn't agree with the court decision and petitioned for additional investigation; and the case was resumed. Now, it's investigated in Moscow," Ms Malsagova said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent and marked that power agents may stand behind the oppositionist's murder.

According to her version, "Maksharip's relations with President were far from being cloudless." She added: "He often sent to me his texts-appeals, which were in fact ultimatums to Evkurov - to stop extrajudicial executions in the republic. Every time I tried to dissuade him from categorical statements, warning him about the real danger hanging over him."

However, after the murder of his nephew in April, Aushev accused Evkurov of hiding those who were involved in these murders, as Rosa Malsagova has noted. "Starting the second half of April, some of his appeals and articles on this occasion have been placed in the website 'Ingushetia.Ru'. Evkurov and Aushev often met, but they both understood that it was a sort of a game played by each party," said Rosa Malsagova.

According to her story, Aushev had extremely strained relations with Vorobyov, former Secretary of the Security Council.

As Ms Malsagova asserts, "everyone referred to Maksharip as if he, allegedly, grouped all 'violent guys' around him, that is, those who disagreed with the system and believers."

"For everybody around it all looked peace and accord, but both Evkurov and Aushev understood that each of them is dangerous for the other. Maksharip all the time demanded to punish the killers of Evloev (of Magomed Evloev, an oppositionist and owner of the website "Ingushetia.Ru" - comment of the "Caucasian Knot") and his nephew; he stirred up the rabbit-warren and was a strong irritator. They were on different sides of ideology," said Malsagova.

She has also reported that President's assistant Musa Pliev "is thinking about his resignation (Pliev also told it to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent). Evkurov doesn't trust him, knowing about his friendship with Maksharip and Magomed Khazbiev."

According to her story, Evkurov has no control over power agents in his republic; therefore, he imposes the main guilt for instability on corrupted officials. "He keeps talking about corruption not to notice everyday executions. There is a clear mission - to liquidate everyone who is inclined to resistance or is a militants' helper. Under the previously designed scenario, including through extrajudicial executions," Rosa Malsagova asserts and adds that Evkurov cannot interfere with this policy since "it originates from power agents."
