Georgia: court refuses to release Tsotne Gamsakhurdia for the period of investigation
The Tbilisi City Court has ruled to place Tsotne, son of the first president of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia, in a pre-trial isolation facility for two months. Ketevan Bekauri, his advocate, told journalists about it.
Tsotne Gamsakhurdia is accused of a murder attempt and illegal purchase, storage and bearing of firearms.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reminds here that the court has rejected the petition lodged by the defence to set Tsotne free; and the young man is on his hunger strike for the second day with a release demand.
