Five swine flu cases registered in Dagestan

In Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, five swine flu patients (virus А/Н1N1) have been revealed, one of them was hospitalized, as reported by the Republic's branch of "Rospotrebnadzor" (Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision).

All the patients are residents of Makhachkala. One case is "imported" - a woman had visited Rostov-on-Don and was infected there. One woman-patient was hospitalized; however, today her condition is treated by physicians as satisfactory, she is prepared for discharge. The condition of other patients does not require hospitalization.

President of Dagestan Mukhu Aliev gave an order to the government to allot 16 million roubles for purchase of artificial respirator units. Also, it was ordered to provide the required funds for purchase of anti-virus preparations.

Earlier, cases of swine flu were revealed in a number of Caucasian regions, in particular, in the Stavropol Territory, North Ossetia, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
