Drinking beer is forbidden at Sochi railway stations and airports

Mayor of Sochi Anatoly Pakhomov has banned sale and consumption of beer closer than 100 meters from entrances to railway stations, airports, sports objects and wholesale food markets. The statement came into force on October 27.

The ITAR-TASS explains with reference to the Commerce Department of city administration that beer will be still available for residents and guests of the city-resort in cafes and restaurants located farther than one hundred meters from the fences surrounding the places of mass accumulation of people.

Earlier, a ban was introduced on selling beer in immediate vicinity from kindergartens, schools and hospitals of the city, as reported by the "Interfax".

In September, the Mayor of Sochi also made a decision to develop the city program for fighting smoking. Penalties for smoking in improper places should make, according to the Mayor, some 50-100 roubles.
