Oppositional action held in capital of Georgia

A manifestation of supporters of the opposition and NGO activists took place in Tbilisi. The participants of the action stood against the course of the present authorities of Georgia. About 500 persons took part in the action.

It began with a rally at the building of the Public Television of Georgia. It was dated to the second anniversary of the violent dispersal of the rally at the parliament of the country. Then, the protesters moved to the Rustaveli Avenue, to the building of the parliament of Georgia.

There, the demonstrators read aloud the resolution, drawn up by NGOs and appealing the authorities to release all political prisoners in Georgia, stop political repressions, release the judiciary and mass media from state control, as reported by the "Vesti" TV Channel.

According to Leval Gachechiladze, one of the leaders of the opposition, protest actions will not stop until the country is headed by President Mikhail Saakashvili. According to Mr Gachechiladze, a new wave of struggle against the incumbent rulers begins, as reported by the "Gazeta.Ru" Agency.

Apart from Levan Gachechiladze, the action was attended by such leaders of the off-parliamentary oppositions like Zviad Dzidziguri, Nino Burdzhanadze, Eka Beseliya, Kakha Kukava and others.
