State Duma not to deprive Georgia's MFA head of Russian citizenship

The State Duma of the Russian Federation has refused to support the initiative of Semyon Bagdasarov, an MP from the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" faction, to deprive Grigol Vashadze, Georgian Foreign Minister, of his Russian citizenship.

As Alexander Moskalets, first deputy chair of the State Duma committee on constitutional legislation and state system, said to the "Echo Moskvy" Radio, the Russian Constitution prohibits doing it.

The ITAR-TASS adds that Konstantin Kosachev, chair of the State Duma committee for international matters has noted that "we shouldn't act rashly and broaden still more the abyss between Russia and Georgia."
